A Tribute to the Stars:
Honoring Excellence in Cancer Pain Relief

The Norris Care Team, directed by Dr. Steven Richeimer, along with NP Pamela Merriam, includes a team of health care professionals dedicated to providing more than pharmacological/interventional management of pain.  They are striving to provide quality assessment and treatment for not only pain itself, but the symptoms associated with pain, cancer and treatment.  They also contribute to the USC Medical Department by providing education in pain, palliative, and end-of-life services.

The Norris Care Team participates in quality of life research.  As a group they have also participated in the Norris "Festival of Life" to celebrate cancer survivor's day.  They distribute information on pain and symptom management throughout the hospital and had a poster presentation at the California Hospital Initiative in Palliative Services (CHIPS) in January, 2003. 

They're known as "The Care Team" and their goal is to "achieve optimal quality of life for patients and their families."  We at SCCPI are proud to honor them.  Congratulations!
