   Volunteer Opportunities

At USCUH we have more than 200 volunteers who share their time with our patients and their families. USC University Hospital volunteers make a difference in almost every department from the Gift Shop to Outpatient Surgery.

Would you like to help?
One of USC University Hospital's most valuable assets is the dedication of its caring volunteers.  These individuals come from all walks of life, but are united in their desire to help our patients and their families during difficult times.  Whether you are looking to gain career exposure or just looking for a way to give back to your community, ample volunteer opportunities for students and adults are available.

How much time will be required of me?

The minimum time requirement for volunteering is at least 75 hours per year.  Although most volunteers serve about 4 hours per week, there is flexibility surrounding the amount of time you are able to commit each week.

Where do I begin?

All volunteer applicants must be at least 15 years of age to enter the program.  If you are volunteering to fulfill your community service requirement for school, remember that you must volunteer a minimum of 75 hours before requests will be approved. The application process includes completion of a written application, a placement interview, orientaton and a health screening. To apply, or for more information, please email USC-UH-Volunteer@tenethealth.com or call (323) 442-8919.
